Whitehead Industrial Hardware: The Intersection of Tradition and Innovation

Jul 27th 2018

The outpouring of support we received from all of you in the Valdosta community was awe-inspiring.

That’s why we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who attended our recent grand-opening event of our new showroom. We are truly honored that so many took time away from their busy schedules to come and show Whitehead Industrial Hardware the kind of support that only Valdosta can offer.

The event was everything we had hoped for and that’s because of you. We were able to welcome so many respected guests including our own local delegates, business partners, employees, customers and members of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce. Despite the rainy forecast, we were able to come together and celebrate on this very special day!

We Want To Say Thank You.

It’s important to us at Whitehead Industrial Hardware that we support our local tradesmen and tradeswomen. With the extreme shortage of young people entering skilled trades, it’s important to inspire young people to explore these important professions and help them on their way.

For that reason, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to our local Wiregrass Georgia Technical College for allowing us an opportunity to do just that. One of the greatest highlights of the day was the moment we presented the Distinguished Tradesman Award to several outstanding graduates. Along with their plaque, recipients were awarded $250 in store credit to help them purchase the tools they need for success.

The recipients included Aaron Player, Angelique Tucker, Morgan Davis and Steven George Shively. These graduates have a very bright future and should be proud of their accomplishments. We hope to build long-lasting relationships with them, both personally and professionally.

Our ribbon-cutting included another momentous occasion that filled our hearts with pride.

We were able to recognize those individuals who had tirelessly demonstrated their dedication and commitment to our company throughout the years. The Miller Hardware Company Perpetual Plaque was presented in honor of those who have helped us overcome obstacles and adversities throughout our journey.

The plaque reads,

“In sincere gratitude and appreciation for the commitment, service, and dedication of those who brought us to where we stand today.”

The plaque holds the names of those unforgettable individuals who have retired or since passed away after 10 or more years of service. The presentation of this plaque ensures their memory and contribution will live on to inspire us all.

And, no celebration is complete without delicious food to share with one another. For that reason, we’d like to thank the Sunset Farm Brand and Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe for their tasty treats and superior service!

Most of all, we want to thank you — the people of Valdosta.

We could not have achieved our goal of opening our new showroom without your help. Without you, our dream to grow and evolve wouldn’t be possible. Your trust in the Miller family has allowed us to build a strong foundation of excellence and we are committed to keeping that trust.

We truly are grateful to our friends, customers and local businesses for such a show of support. The comradery was apparent and affirmed what we already knew — that Valdosta is and always will be our home.

If you were unable to attend the event, but want to see what all the excitement is about, just stop by. We’d love to show you around!
